About Smash Design Build
We are a decidedly small company, and are selective of who we work with and what types of projects we take on. Hopefully our portfolio reflects this. We focus on stand-alone projects that explore the synthesis of:
functional home design
lavish landscapes and outdoor spaces
crafted construction
the artistic experience of space, light, and time.
Why Design Build?
A design-build firm combines the operations of a design office and a general contractor under one roof. The main value of this design-build arrangement comes from a closer protection of the client’s investment in the design quality of the project. The built construction is made with a close eye on the design quality. Similarly, the project will be designed with an insight on the built construction - which means we deliver cost-effectiveness of the design intent.

Marcus Eldon McKenzie was born and raised in the fun part of Texas. He lives in Austin with his wife and daughter in their own happy little home. Painting, making, cycling, and wellness.
